About

Hi my name is Lucy Cocker. I am a final year physiotherapy student at the University of Birmingham, due to graduate July 2013. This blog will hopefully give you an insight into the journey I take in securing my first post and how I begin to progress throughout my career.

  2. Hi Lucy!
You have no idea how happy I am to stumble upon your blog! I’m in my final year of high school (year 13 IB student in HK) and am aspiring to become a Physiotherapist like you!
I recently sent in my application to UCAS applying for Physiotherapy in University of Birmingham and Southampton. Can you tell me your experience as a whole in Birmingham? What student life is like? The lectures/school work, etc?
I would love to hear back from you!

    Thanks,

    Joyce

    • Hi Joyce, I loved bham was a great university it is quite academic but loved my time there. Student life is ace at bham I didn’t want to leave it is a really nice campus and really close to the city centre !! I think all physio courses are quite intense compared to others you just have to be prepared for 9-5 lectures but as long as you plan your time it is completely manageable I still managed to do extra curricula activities. Good Luck with everything, if you have any other questions let me know. Lucy x
